The Paper Shuffle is the final special exam of the year. Students are paired
up in twos to take a written exam. The classes will compete against one or two
other classes at the same time.
The exam will cover 8 subjects, with 50 questions per subject, totaling 400 questions. Each question is worth 2 points, for a total of 800 points. The subjects include Japanese, Mathematics, English, and Social Studies.
Each pair must score a combined total of 60 points in each subject. The combined score for all subjects across the pair should meet a certain total, which is 692 points.
Each class must prepare the exam questions for all 8 subjects, which will be used by the class they are competing against. Classes will choose which other class to compete with. If more than one class selects the same class, the decision will be made through a poll.
If a class competes against two other classes, they will "attack" one class by providing questions for the other class to use in their exam, while they "defend" by taking the exam using defending classes questions.
In one-on-one competitions, two classes directly exchange question papers and take the exam using each other's questions.

Student Pairing
Before the special exam, a mini test will be conducted to decide how students will be paired. The mini test will consist of 100 questions, each worth 1 point, for a total of 100 points. Based on the results of the mini test, the students with the best and worst scores will be paired together. For example:- The student who takes first place will be paired with the student who takes last place.
- The student who takes second place will be paired with the student who takes second from last.
- The student who takes 20th place will be paired with the student who takes 21st place, and so on. (since the met in middle)
In the anime adaptation there only 25 student per class so there will be 12
pairs and one student will take exam without pair.
Penalties
- If a pair fails to score a combined total of 60 points in each subject, both students will be expelled.
- If a pair fails to achieve the required total score across all subjects, they will be expelled.
- A student who misses the exam will receive 0 points for the exam.
- If any student is caught cheating, their entire pair will be expelled.

Class Pairing Methods |
For example:
- If Class A attacks Class B (meaning Class B uses Class A's prepared question paper) and defends against Class C (meaning Class A uses Class C's prepared question paper), Class A’s total score will be compared with the total scores of Class B and Class C.
- If Class A scores higher than both Class B and Class C, they will earn 50 class points from Class B and 50 class points from Class C, totalling 100 class points. And class B and class C lose 50 class points.
- If Class A loses to Class B but wins against Class C, they will earn no class points because they lose 50 points to Class B and gain 50 points from Class C, resulting in a net of 0 points.
In a one-on-one competition, where two classes attack and defend against the each other:
- The winning class will receive 100 class points, while the losing class will lose 100 class points.
- For example, if Class D and Class C compete in a one-on-one, and Class D wins, Class D will earn 100 class points, and Class C will lose 100 class points. This is because Class D earns 50 points for attacking and 50 points for defending.
