Ken Sudo |
When Sudo failed his exams and faced expulsion in the first year, Horikita
and Kiyotaka sacrificed 100,000 points to help him pass. Ayanokoji credited
Horikita for saving Ken, leaving her startled but unable to deny it. This
act might have left a strong impression on Sudo and gave him the idea that
if he worked hard, he might be able to become Horikita's love interest in
the future.
Horikita later defended Sudo when he was falsely accused of involving in
violence against other students. Though hesitant at first, she presented
evidence proving his innocence, which impressed Sudo. After the accusations
were dropped, Sudo admired her skills and called her amazing.
Sudo showed signs of romantic feelings for Horikita as the story progressed,
calling her first name "cute," though Horikita remained unaware and focused
on her personal growth. In the second year, he confessed his feelings to
Horikita. However, Horikita, uninterested in romance with him, thanked him
but made it clear she hadn’t thought about love at that time.

Ayanokoji and Horikita |
From Suzune Horikita's perspective in the light novel short stories of the
first and second years of Classroom of the Elite, it is evident that she
holds a unique view of Kiyotaka Ayanokoji.
In the first volume of the light novel, she becomes agitated and reacts
strongly upon learning that Kiyotaka went out with Kikyo, accusing him of
treating Kikyo more favorably than her. On another occasion, Horikita
visited Kiyotaka's room and secretly traced letters in the air to calm her
"pounding heart."
In Year 1, after a conversation with Kei, Horikita expresses fear but also a
desire to get closer to Kiyotaka, realizing that he trusts Kei more than
her. Kei even advises her about Kiyotaka, a moment that Horikita reflects
deeply on. Similarly, in Year 2, Horikita stares at the sea, trying to
control her emotions, after hearing Ibuki recount how Kiyotaka revealed
himself and fought Ryuen to save Kei. This makes Horikita ponder about the
"Ayanokoji that I didn’t know."
After confronting Amasawa, Horikita decides to learn more about Kiyotaka and
become someone he can rely on and stand beside. She often confronts him
about who he is, going to lengths she doesn’t for others like Sudo. These
moments spark discussions about
Ayanokoji end up with and hint that Horikita may already have feelings for him, even if she
hasn’t realized it yet. We will only know in the future.

So, when Ayanokoji transfers to Ichinose's class, Horikita and Hirata may feel betrayed. This could lead them to work closely together as class leaders, and over time, they might develop feelings for each other, even though their personalities are different. Both Horikita and Hirata are growing and changing, so it's possible they could eventually fall in love.
